There are six Creative Wollongong Studio opportunities available to local artists over the age of 18 and a Youth Service Residency open to those aged 18-24.
“We are looking for local artists, as well as a young local artist, to participate in a 12-month residency to develop and develop their professional skills and portfolio,” said Kerry Hunt, director of community services for the City Council of Wollongong.
“The six Creative Wollongong Studio Residencies aim to support local artists through heavily subsidized studio space in the heart of Wollongong. This program will provide artists with opportunities to collaborate and network with other artists as well as engage with the wider community through open studio tours, artist talks, and skill development opportunities. skills.
“Our Wollongong Youth Services Artist-in-Residence program will provide a young person with access to a studio, exhibition space and art supplies. It’s an opportunity for a young artist to work with other creatives and mentors while developing their practice in the studio. They will also gain experience co-hosting a weekly art program and helping other young people create artwork for Youth Services.
